Mangalore: Raga Taranga's Cultural Extravaganza Begins

Mangalore, Dec 13: Raga Taranga, a cultural organization of the city organized 'Balapratibha 2008,' a state level cultural programme for kids, at the  Town Hall on Saturday December 13.

The programme was organized to commemorate the silver jubilee of Ragataranga. Hemavati Heggade of Dharmasthal, was the chief guest  for the programme.

Shalmali Ghate, young talent of the city, presided over the programme. She said that, Ragataranga has helped the children to exhibit their hidden talents at a young age.

Siddharth Mallya, budding musician of Hiriadka, near Udupi,  was the vice-president of the occasion. He opined that music is  part of  society and it has a tremendous power. One can make other people  happy through  music, he added.

Pradeepkumar Kalkura, M B Puranik, M S Gururaj, Vithobha Nagvekar and others were present on the dais.
Dr Devraj K welcomed the gathering. Harikrishna Punarur delivered the  introductory remarks. Jaya Rao presented the report. Children from various parts of the state participated in the cultural programmes after the stage programme. Cultural events will continue on Sunday, December 14, 2008.
