Dharwad, Dec 22: A police trainee undergoing training at the police training school on Kalaghatagi Road here hanged himself on Friday December 21 within the premises of the training school. The victim, Manohar Kotargasti, a native of Boragi village in Sindagi taluk in the district, has stated that he was cheated by a girl with whom he was in love two years back. He also accused principal of the training school, R A Parashetty, of registering rape case against him with the connivance of the said woman.

"The fact that Parashetty had relationship with the work maid at his house was known to me. Because of anger arising out of this, he made use of her and got a case filed against me," he has claimed in the 23-page death note. He has named seven persons as being responsible for his death, duly naming the woman who cheated him as accused No. 1 and Parashetty as No. 2.

Parashetty has dismissed the allegations, duly explaining that Manohar had loved and cheated the woman. "He also had shot a video of his intimate moments with the woman. She approached me with a complaint two days back. Case under different sections of Indian Penal Code was registered against him in Sindagi police station. He was to be arrested by Sindagi police but as he was currently under Hubballi - Dharwad commissionerate, we had handed him over to them. But Manohar somehow escaped from them and ended his life out of fear of getting arrested. All the allegations made against me are baseless," he stated.

Police personnel of Vidyagiri station have registered a case. They are confident o reaching to the bottom of the case through detailed investigation.
