Mangaluru: Girl from Bengaluru drowns at Someshwar beach

Mangaluru, Dec 24: In a tragic incident which happened at Someshwara beach on Monday December 24 at around 10.30 am, a girl from Bengaluru, who had come along with some others to Someshwar beach for fun, drowned.

This happened when four Bengaluru-based persons were on a visit to the beach. The other three also faced danger, but the life guards rescued them. The condition of the other girl too is said to be critical.

All the four persons were facing grave danger to their lives in the sea when the lifeguards jumped into action and rescued all the four tourists. But one among them, a four-year-old girl breathed her last without responding to treatments provided at a private hospital at Deralakatte.

The other girl too is said to be in a critical conditions but the parents of the children are out of danger.

Chintamani Ketkar (39), Shraddha Ketkar (35), and Garki Ketkar (7) survived the scare. Maitreyi Ketkar (4) was the one whose condition was critical and who could not be revived in spite of best ef forts by the doctors.
