Dubai: Missing Mangalorean Naveen Albuquerque (32) Found Dead near Abra

Daijiworld Media Network - Dubai (GA)

Dubai, Dec 18: Thirty-two-year-old Naveen Albuquerque from Jeppu Mangalore, who left his camp for Karama Dubai during Eid holidays to meet his friend, was found dead near Abra Creekside, Dubai on Wednesday December 17, 2008.

Sylvester, brother of Naveen who also works for the same company (Belhasa construction) speaking to Daijiworld from Dubai said that his brother left for Karama on Sunday December 7 afternoon. However, there was no news about him and no one knew about his whereabouts thereafter. When Naveen did not return to his camp even after the Eid holidays, Sylvester lodged a police complaint.

On Wednesday police called Sylvester to inform that a body had been found near Abra. Sylvester immediately rushed to the spot and identified Naveen. Sylvester later said "No idea as how did he die. We all are shell-shocked at this sudden turn of events."

Naveen is the son of Baptist and Marceline Albuquerque of St Joseph Nagar near Jeppu, Mangalore.

Meanwhile Sylvester has appealed community organizations to help and support him in completing legal procedures and lend financial help as Naveen was working for a construction company.

Naveen was very close and neighbour for our family and we have very good relationship with them. After Sylvester left for Dubai he took his brother Naveen too. Just before leaving he took our blessings and I never thought that it would be my last blessings. It was a shocking news for all of us today morning when Naveen`s uncle from Cascia broke the news and thereafter we together visited the bereaved family, who had seriously doubting this as their son Sylvester had conveyed them about `missing`. Both Naveen and Sylveser were very helpful to our family when our own eldest son: Sch. Loy Manohar SJ demised at Chennai on 18.08.2006. While conveying our heartfelt condolences to their family, I only pray our Lord God Jesus to give our Naveen eternal rest and courage & strength to their family members to face this tragedy. Bro Loy`s Family, Jeppu, Mangalore
