Bengaluru: Culprit returns empty-handed in failed bank robbery

Bengaluru, Dec 26: In an incident that has come to light in the city, a culprit entered the strong room of Canara Bank at Lottegollahalli branch by drilling a hole on the terrace of the building, but failed to take any valuables from the lockers.

On the terrace of the building, there is a small room adjacent to the strong room of the bank. A hole, which is just enough for one person to slide, is made in the same room. Though the culprit was able to get into the strong room through the drilled hole, he could not break the lockers. So there is a possibility that he must have returned empty handed as per the information given by the police.

The nationalized banks have started protest country wide from December 21st urging the fulfilment of their various demands. During this time, the attempt to steal valuables from the bank is done. The incident has come to light on Monday, December 24. C Shivaram Prasad, manager of the said branch has filed a complaint in this regard with the Kodigehalli police station and the investigation is continuing to trace the culprit.
