Bengaluru: Why should I apologise for ‘shoot mercilessly’ remark - HDK snaps back

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Dec 26: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has refused to apologise over his “shoot mercilessly” remark, which went viral on Monday.

The CM had said the controversial remark in a telephonic conversation, while reacting to murder of JD(S) worker Prakash, who was allegedly hacked to death by four men in Maddur town on Monday evening.

While the BJP claimed Kumaraswamy as ‘irresponsible’ for his comments and demanded an apology, the CM defended that he was an ‘emotional’ person. "Even if a single citizen is in trouble, I will involve myself...that issue is over according to me, that is why I said instead of an encounter, I said smoke them out... that is my final word,” he told reporters.

When questioned about BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa’s demand for apology, Kumaraswamy snapped back asking “why should i apologise?”

He hit back at BJP leaders by questioning about an incident where two farmers were allegedly shot dead by police during Yeddyurappa's tenure as CM, asking "was it not a big issue?"

Meanwhile, human rights activist T Narasimha Murthy has petitioned the State Human Rights Commission, terming the chief minister's remarks as a "clear violation" of human rights.

He urged the commission “to examine the implications and impact of such emotional remarks on the police, judiciary and public," and to issue appropriate direction to Kumaraswamy.

It appears to be an instruction for police encounter. Such statements from none other than head of state is not acceptable. Even the victim is a party worker, the govt can not work on emotion. Then how can you give justice to sikhs butchered in Delhi because assassination of Indhira Gandhi was emotive issue for congress.

Why State Human Rights Commission is interfering in this issue un necessarily ? They always support killers and not the victims. When Veerappan killed 100s of civilians and police personnel , this SHRC was sleeping but when police killed Veerappan they woke up to protest. Dear SHRC , please treat life of Prakash is also precious.

If you support such statements then whats the existence of courts. Police force is also not required. Who has to do this job of shoot at sight. Let them take action promptly without dragging the cases years together. justice delayed is justice denied. those who are power not utter such words and action. Let them tighten our lose system and take action those who rape kill etc.

Every topic has two sides - supporting and opposing. Those who oppose the CM, support the killers.

Here, humam rights do not apply because he is a criminal committing crime the second time. If you support him, you invite similar killing to yourself which many others don't, hene their support is for the CM.
