Cold wave continues in Punjab, Haryana


Chandigarh, Dec 27 (IANS): Amritsar city recorded a low of 1 degree Celsius on Thursday as cold wave conditions prevailed across the plains of Punjab and Haryana in the past 24 hours.

Dense fog was experienced at several places, especially along highways.

The minimum temperatures were one to three degrees below normal at most places.

Narnaul and Hisar in Haryana recorded lows of 3.2 and 2.8 degrees Celsius respectively.

Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 3.4 degrees. The maximum temperature here was 19 degrees.

Maximum temperatures at most places in Punjab and Haryana hovered between 16 and 20 degrees. Ludhiana in Punjab recorded a low of 2 degrees.
