Kuwait, Jan 4: Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA) Kuwait organised a joyful Christmas evening in Abbasiya, on December 28.
The programme began with a warm welcome by compere Ben john to all the MCA members and guests. It followed with the carol singing by dynamic singer and musician Anil Pais and Laveena Pais. Florine and their team led the prayer for God’s Blessing on the occasion.
MCA President Naveen Cedric D'Sa then welcomed the chief guests of the event Wilson D'Souza (Former Tulu Koota President 2017-2018), Ronald D'Souza (famous Konkani writer) and Rajesh Bhandary (area manager, Unimoni Kuwait). The chief guests expressed their thoughts and wishes on occasion of Christmas to the gathering.
Later, the event impelled with various cultural programmes where in the tableau on birth of Jesus which was written by famous playwright and poet Ida Lobo. It was led by the members of the cultural committee Pricilla Rodrigues and Deepak D'souza which was emotive and attraction of the event.
Dance programmes on Konkani songs where performed by MCA members and their family brought enhanced exquisiteness to the event. Audiences were kept occupied in various spot games held by Ben John and housie game by Herald Fernandes and Rajesh Fernandes. The winners of the star competition were judged by the chief guests of the event. Later, the chief guests distributed prizes to the winners of the games and star competition.
A music troupe led by an eminent singer Jaison D'Cunha brought joy to scores of event by singing Christmas carols and made everyone dance to their beats. This troupe had singers, guitarists, brass band and clowns. The troupe was fantastic.
Entry of Santa Claus to the event made the kids to dance with him and later cherished moments by distributing goodies to all kids. Arvin D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks and Florine D'souza recited the grace before dinner. An appetizing Mangalurean dinner was served.
The programme was well supported by MCA managing committee and the support of all committee members.
