Kauravas of Mahabharata were test-tube babies: Andhra University head

Jalandhar, Jan 5 (PTI): The Vice Chancellor of Andhra University has said that India possessed the knowledge of stem cell research, test tube fertilisation and even guided missiles thousands of years ago, providing as evidence, tales from the Indian epics Mahabharata and Ramayana.

Speaking at the Indian Science Congress on Friday, G Nageshwar Rao said, "We had hundreds of Kauravas from one mother because of stem cell research and test tube baby technology. It happened a few thousand years ago. This was science in this country."

"...Mahabharat says, 100 eggs were fertilised and put into 100 earthen pots. Are they not test tube babies? Stem cell research in this country was present thousands of years ago," he added.

Mr Rao also claimed that Lord Ram used astras and shastras, or weapons, which would chase targets, hit them and return. He said this was proof that the science of guided missiles was present in India even thousands of years ago.

Mr Rao said that the demon king Ravana had 24 types of aircraft of varying sizes and capacities for different purposes. Mr Rao also said Ravana had several airports in Lanka.

    Then why develop institutions and waste money on research? Close books and ‘ read’ the religious texts?
    I think it is better to ask Chief Minister Yogi to ask to change the name of 'Indian Science Congress' to 'Bharath Vigyan Sangh Parivar'.
    If 'test tube baby' and 'plastic surgery' existed before, is British took them with Kohinoor Diamond?

    Some particular community is unnecessarily blamed for " Hum Chaar Hamaare Chaalees"; whereas the source of population explosion is revealed where 101 babies were born by a single mother, by the test tube procedure.

    Please take it in lighter vein. Every mother has the right to decide on how many children she wants to enjoy with in her life.

    Just read what a Chaddi gang Vice Chancellor (very close to Yogi Adithyanath) of Purvanchal University said to the students of his University during a recent programme in the University.

    "Agar kisee se jhagda ho jaaye, tho uski pitaayee karke aana, aur thumhara bas chale tho uska MURDER karke aana. Uske baad hum dekh lenge."
    (If you happen to fight with anyone, then come only after hitting/assaulting him; and if possible, MURDER him. We will manage the things later.)

    This is the standard of University heads in the present India; ruled by Criminal politicians who are authorized by the government to certifify and issue the certificates of nationalism and patriotism on daily basis. And They are order to leave the country when some intellectuals say that the intolerance is on the rise in India.

    My sister, I really did not understand what you said in your second sentence. But I have no aim to insult. I am just putting the facts in the open platform for the purpose of understanding and to come to a conclusion.

    Regarding Quran, that was revealed before 1400 years back, never contradicts with Science when it comes to current facts/ inventions. It explains exactly and very precisely, the all stages of formation and development of Fetus in the womb of a mother. This is just one example.

    Yes, there are some facts in the Quran that cannot be validated by the current science. For example, the journey of our Prophet Muhammed( Paeace and Blessings of Allah be upon Him) to the heaven and earth. But we don't call it Science. We call it a miracle that took place with the Power/ strength of the Almighty; the Lord of the Universe. We cannot relate it to the current science. A miracle is supposed to be beyond Science.

    Since last four years a lot of so called intellectuals researchers made research on dwapara yuga than kaliyug. Here he say test tube babies were in mahabharata age. There was statement from U P politician researcher recently that Hanuman was a Muslim.
    Sometime we feel in which society we are living and which way our thinking will diverted by these researches ,. FUNNY PEOPLE..

    According to Mahabharatha, the story of Kauravas' birth as follows (Correct me if I am wrong):
    Gandhari wished for one hundred sons from Rushi Vyasa. Vyasa granted her the boon. After two years of pregnancy, Gandhari gave birth to a hard piece of lifeless flesh that was not a baby at all. Then, Rushi Vyasa asked Gandhari to arrange for one hundred jars to be filled with ghee to put 100 pieces of that flesh. Sons were born after 2 more years.

    So the pregnancy lasted for 2 years. Process of getting test tube babies lasted for 2 more years. Total 4 years. So the University head has to explain why it took 4 years for getting a baby; also how Ghee can be used for the process of getting test tube babies.

    Nawaz , You atleast have some knowledge, I suggest you to read Sampoorna Mahabharata , Above the news was about Indian history book Ramayana Mahabharata, But you started to put hatred comment using chaddi words and all. I cannot explain history nor you can understand.

    I really hate the ideologies and conspriracies of them. They are the one who inflict hatered in the hearts of a common man; and mistrust among the people of other religions. They always portray other communities as traitors towards the motherland. So I called them by that name.
    This hate is not towards any community. This hate is towards the hate mongering ideologies.
    We recently offered prayers at a Malpe Masjid for the safer return of missing fishermen. And I am really satisfied with that. It proves that we are for welfare of each and every person of this society.
