Dubai, Dec 29: It was a befitting finale to this years activities of Billawas Dubai & NE . Billawas of Dubai and neighboring emirates gathered in large numbers to enjoy a fun filled family day out at Zabeel park, Dubai.
This event being the last one of this year , Billawas Dubai & NE Committee had made elaborate arrangements to make this outing a memorable one.
Madhav Poojary, Sudhakar Poojary, Yogita Salian and Suvarna Satish took the responsibility for planning and conducting the event.
Billawas of Dubai has once again demonstrated their support for Billawas Dubai & NE . It was indeed a very happy moment for all Billawas of Dubai where everyone mingled and interacted with each other.
Satish Ullal arranged a “Charmburi” (Bhel Puri) stall and our ladies wing members Soumya Vasanth, Kirti Anil, Jayashree Sudhakar, Shubha Manoj, Prasanna Kuckian, Rajni Kuckian , Deena Kumar prepared delicious “Charmburi” which was enjoyed by everyone.
President of Billawas Dubai & NE Umesh Kuckian welcomed all the members and thanked them for supporting Billawas Dubai & NE and it’s good charity oriented objectives.
Four teams were formed representing the city they originally belonged to , namely Mangalore, Karkala, Udupi and Mumbai led by Mohan Attavar, Deepak, Anand Bailoor and Ganesh Amin respectively.
The event was inaugurated by Raghu Jathan member of Billawas Dubai & NE committee. Many fun filled games were organized in the morning session for adults and children. “Dodging the Ball” was won by Karkala Team and Mumbai team were runners up. “Passing the Ball” was won by Mangalore team and Karkala Team were runners.
Children representing Mangalore team won “Dog and the Bone” while Mumbai team was in second place. In “Banana Eating”, Mumbai took the first place and second place went to Udupi.
Our in-house DJ team led by Santhosh and group played some foot tapping music and our members demonstrated their dancing talents by some superb dance movements. Jayanand Kunder arranged sound system for the event.
Delicious lunch from “Fish Parade” restaurant was served to everyone.
Post lunch session began with “Bombing the city” game. All members enjoyed the game as one could see them dancing and playing the game all the time. This was won by Mangalore Team and second place was shared between Karkala and Udupi.
In “Potato Race”, Praveen Karkera from Karkala Team was winner & Mayur Salian from Mumbai Team was runners up.
This was followed by Musical Arms for ladies. Mangalore team took the first place while Karkala team took the second place.
Couples played “Ball in the Bucket” game which was enjoyed by everyone. Karkala team took the first place and Mangalore team took the second place.
The day ended with a Bingo game and prize distribution. Just before the prize distribution, Umesh Kuckian explained the objective of Billawas Dubai & NE and said that Billaws Dubai & NE will be starting the New year with a good note by donating Rs. 1,15,000 (Rs, One Lak Fifteen Thousand) to 6 needy people towards medical treatment on 4th January at Lions Club Surathkal.
Karkala team was declared as the overall winners with 15 points while Mangalore team was second with 14 points. Prizes were handed over to winners by Anup Kumar, Jitendra Suvarna, Sandesh Salian, Ganesh Amin, Uday Kumar, Satish Poojary, Umesh Kuckian, Mohan Attavar , Praveen Kumar, Purushotham Salian and Anand Bailoor.
