Mandya: Madhe Gowda Attacked; Involvement of BJP Activists Suspected

Mandya, Dec 30: Senior politician G Madhe Gowda was allegedly attacked by activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Gandhi Memorial Hall in Maddur on Tuesday December 30.
Miscreants also vandalized the window panes and furniture in the Hall and a car belonging to Gowda. It is said that the attack was carried out because of his alleged campaigning against BJP candidate Thammanna in Maddhur assembly constituency.
JD(S) candidate Kalpana Siddaraju won from this constituency. Gowda urged the government to take stringent action against the miscreants.
Meanwhile, JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda condemned the attack and warned of staging a protest in front of chief minister Yeddyurappa’s house on Wednesday December 31, in case the administration failed to arrest those responsible, immediately. He also termed the attack as humiliatory.
