Doha: MCC Presents Mandd Sobhann's 'Baila Dabazo' on Jan 30

Doha, Jan 5: Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Qatar, which is affiliated to the Indian Cultural Centre under the aegis of the Indian Embassy, Qatar, and is one of the oldest expatriate socio-cultural clubs in Qatar, in its endeavour to serve the community, since its inception in 1992, has been conducting various social, cultural, literary, educational activities in which members and non members alike participate in large numbers. 

For the thousands who have made their homes away from home in Qatar, MCC strives to keep them in touch with their culture and help in getting rid of home sickness and achieve better health through entertainment.  In this regard MCC invites famed Konkani artistes from Mangalore and other parts of India to perform in Doha and entertain their fans, which has been successfully achieved for the last 16 years.

And now, at the dawn of the New Year 2009, in its quest to give the best to the community, MCC is proud to present ‘BAILA DABAZO’, an evening of fast paced Konkani songs, scintillating dances, rib tickling comedy and the very best of entertainment by none other than the 18 member ‘Mandd Sobhann’ (Guinness Book record holder for Marathon Non stop singing) troupe of international fame, on Friday the January 30th 2009 at 5.30 p.m. at the Gulf Cinema. Doha

The Gurkar of the troupe, Vishwa Konkani Kalaratn Bab Eric Ozario has composed music for more than 600 songs and along with his troupe has presented around 600 shows all over India and the Middle East.  He has recorded more than 15 albums and has also been featured twice on Surabhi – a national T.V. show which features unique cultural achievers and achievements.  He has undertaken marathon journeys, tours and campaigns - to awaken the ‘Konkani heart’ and to create cultural awareness. His singer wife Joyce Ozario will lend her melodious voice along with Prakash D’souza, who has been part of the troupe for many years, and the golden voiced Anitha Samson, the leading female singer of Mangalore, who has performed in scores of multilingual albums and shows in India and abroad.

The Dancers of the ‘Naach Sobhann’ troupe under the leadership of Avil D’cruz include Anil Spinoza, Jeethan D’cunha, Marula Nisha, Snehal Spinoza and Sweety D’cruz.

The show will have Roshan D’Souza, a musician, composer, performer par excellence, who has scored music for and performed in hundreds of musical shows and Konkani albums, on the lead guitar, Richard Monteiro from the Gulf Voice of Mangalore Music troupe on the keyboard, Ashith Pinto from the Sandesha Music School on the base guitar, Sachin Sequeira on drums and Umesh Iddya on Saxaphone and trumpet. 

To tickle the ribs we have ‘Khoroz Manglur’, comprising the ‘Daiji Dubai Best Young Talent’ award winner  Neil Veigas, who is famously known as Nellu Permannur and Alwyn Veigas.

The show will be compered in his unique style by the renowned Stany Alvares of Dacter Damyav TV serial fame.

‘BAILA DABAZO’ will surely be a big bundle of sheer entertainment of the highest quality.
