Mangalore: Billawas Dubai & NE's `New Year Bonanza' to Needy and Poor

Mangalore, Jan 6: Billawas Dubai & Northern Emirates started their current years activities with a generous donation of Rs 1,15,000 towards medical treatment aid to needy and poor patients.

The cheques were handed over at “Sarathya 2009” function organised by Yuvavahini Surathkal Chapter on Sunday January 4 at the Lions Club, Surathkal.

President of Billawas Dubai & NE, Umesh Kuckian was accompanied by his wife Prasanna Kuckian and committee member Deepak at the function. President of Central Council Chandrashekar Suvarna and Seetgaran H, president Yuvavahini (R), Surathkal Chapter also were present on the occasion.

Yogish Kotian of Yuvavahini Surathkal chapter gave the briefing on Billawas Dubai & NE activities while welcoming the gathering.



Umesh Kuckian in his address explained the commitment of Billawas Dubai to the society by helping the poor students by providing scholarships for their studies, medical assistance to the poor people and other social service activities during the past 11 years.

The beneficiaries of the medical aid were handed over cheques as follows:

  • Rs. 15,000 given to Anand Salian, whose wife was under medical treatment for ovarian cancer.
  • Rs. 10,000 was given to Shobha Anchan, for her husband’s medical treatment for hernea and eyesight defect.
  • Rs. 20,000 given to Rajivi for her ovarian cancer treatment.
  • Rs. 25000 was given for Kishori Rajesh for her 2 year baby daughter's open heart surgery.
  • Rs. 20,000 was given to Poornima Naveen for her husband's coronary artery disease treatment.
  • Rs. 25,000 for Janardhana Poojary for his 4 year daughter's heart surgery.
