Mangalore: Alleged Distribution of Bible Copies - Miscreants Assault Teacher

Mangalore Jan 7: A teacher was admitted into a private hospital in the city with severe injuries, after he was allegedly attacked by some strangers near Merlapadavu in Neermarga on the morning of Wednesday January 7.
James Victor Minezes, a teacher of St Legory's school in Merlapadavu is the teacher targetted by the said miscreants. He was on his way to school, when he was attacked by four persons who came in two motor bikes, the teacher claims.
After finding their badly beaten up teacher lying on the road, the students of his school provided him first aid before seeking medical aid. James has filed a complaint with the Kankanady police station on the incident, and in response, the policemen visited the hospital and collected full information about the incident. He reportedly informed the police that he would be able to identify the attackers, who had also taken part in the protest organized in front of his school a week ago.
The protest was organised by some activists who were protesting against the alleged distribution of Bible copies to the students of the school.
The injured teacher, who is a resident of Adyarpadavu near here, is undergoing treatment in the Father mullers Hospital, Kakanady.
