Mangalore Jan 8: A practicing advocate, Dinesh Hegde Ulepady was assaulted by unknown persons  on K S Rao here at 8.30 pm. He was  later admitted to the private  hospital. 

The Advocate  now  undergoing treatment at a  private hospital , was moving towards his car to go home from office near Bishop House, Kodialbail.

“An unknown person came and  assaulted me with a hatchet and  tried to  kill me but fortunately I turned and  pulled  the  hatchet from him  and  he escaped'  Hedge said. “I do not  know  why   he planned to  kill me'

Hegde  has  filed a complaint in  Mangalore  north police  station  stating the incident as a  murder attempt. Police dogs were brought to the scene to see if the culprits could be traced.

Reason for the attack is not yet known. More details awaited.

    Indian constitution guarantees right of freedom and right of speech. Advocates are there to protect the interest of general public when their rights are in danger or suspended or withdrawn or damaged by any individual, group or by the state. So if the general public if not protects and respects a Lawyer who else will protect the interest of the public.

    Hence don't take law into your own hands. Every individual is not perfect. We have to give opportunity to every one to correct himself and at the same time respect the law of the land. This is my individual opinion
