Mangalore, Jan 12: "Selfish people aiming at reaping political benefits have been engaged in making incessant efforts to break the country. Conscious Hindus need to wake up to the reality and stop these people from becoming successful in their efforts," felt Chickmagalur MLA and state BJP general secretary C T Ravi. He was speaking after chairing the Hindu Janajagruti Conference organized at the local Nehru Maidan on the evening of Sunday January 11, by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

"Many sacred pilgrimage centres of India have now become part of Pakistan, Afghanistan and China. The situation has arisen because of the utter failure of the rulers to take strong and timely steps against the anti-national forces that are involved with treachery. The central government has failed to even ensure that the death sentence passed against terrorist Afzal who was the brain behind the attack on the parliament is executed," he explained.

"The real secularism can set in the country only when Hinduism is protected. Hindu society is getting weaker because of the wrong practices like casteism and untouchability. The fact that undivided families which flourished in the past have perished, has delivered a terrible blow to Hinduism," he added, exhorting every family to have at least two children.

Ravi called upon the awakened citizens of the country to join hands in the eradication of terrorism from the country.

Nitte University chancellor N Vinaya Hegde, who was the chief guest, expressed the view that Hindu society should become united in its real sense, as it is very important from the security point of view of the country. "Hindu society has split up many a time for various reasons. There is no unity among the temples and Swamijis even now. This situation is not congenial for the protection of the country and the religion. We need to deeply ponder over these things. People who are out to split the country have become major political forces in the country. They have even been elevated to positions that are not far from the post of the Prime Minister of the country," he rued.

Ku Sam Kallangouder of Dharmashakti Seni, Mohan Gowda of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Vinayak Shanbhag of Sanatana Samsthe and Shilpa of 'Sanata Prabhata' publication, too addressed the meeting.
