Mangaluru: 78-year-old murder-accused Denis D’Souza dies in prison

Mangaluru, Jan 29: Denis D'Souza (78), who was facing the charge of murdering the husband of his sister at Thokkottu Kapikad, breathed his last inside the prison due to cardiac arrest.

Denis had been accused of thrashing his sister, Janet, and her husband, Joseph, with an iron road on August 12, 2018, allegedly angered by their refusal to part with money to enable him to buy medicines.

Joseph, who was seriously injured in the incident, had died in a hospital later.

Denis had been lodged in the district prison here before being shifted to Bengaluru.

    Its unfortunate that he angered and killed his brother in law to get money for his medicines for his servival. Sure that may be not a intentional killing......

    Anger can lead to anywhere in our life.... so be cool all the time....

    Hope that prison life gave him enoug time to repent and regret his sins/crime.
    Passed away due to cadiac arrest. Life sentence shortened.

    It means now both died. Case closed. Women is in trouble now.
    She lost her husband as well as blood brother. While you alive do not part of your wealth with dear and near one. It's human tendancy..with some people due to love...transfer all there properties to family members..most probably a single person. In there mind they assume already crossed 70 why need money...can also depend upon just ganji.
    In between if they need money to buy medicne or any purpose...person who taken all his property refuse to handover money..saying you will spend money on drink. Latter first person in fit of rage..thinking i given all the things of my life earning..not able to get a small money when in need and try to fight. There itself it turn to collapsible incident. It's nothing but first of all wants to see how ancestral property inherited whether thru hard earned money or cheated long back to anybody and turn to there own purpose. Wrong things always chase us janam...janam. Nobody can spare with it either our mis deeds in purva janma. We want to prey price for it and cannot even bribe the god. Try to do good things in life. Family tree will be healthy for next generation people..healthy and fruitful. If we go on investigate what's gone wrong..is nothing but purva janmada karma.

    Pravin Udipi,here nobody spoke of any community.Death,pain and sickness doesnt seek community,religion,or poor or rich.
    But when sickness overcome in old age ,and has no means to get rid,you cant remain simply sit and wait someone brings medicine .but go to your sister/brother to borrow.But they refuse to give saying you drink,one doesnt bother about his life ,gets in rage and wants to fight for his life ,when they have your money and dont give out.Its normal reaction.not a murderish purpose.Now he is no more .May his soul rest in peace.
