Mangalore, Jan 15:
A 50-year old man who was moving on his scooter, was fatally knocked down by a private bus at around  11.45 am near the Lady Hill circle here on Thursday January 15.

According ti sources, H I Khader, owner of Hotel Welcome located in Krishnapura, was travelling to the city to take his daughter home on his scooter, when he was hit by the bus that was bound for city from Manipal.

He died on the spot, police said. Driver of the bus fled from the scene.

The angry mob which gathered at the accident spot vented their ire at the reckless driving style of the private bus drivers. They claimed that the entry of express buses through this road into the city was prohibited and that the bus drivers routinely flout the rules and enter the city through this road instead of the national highway to save time and reach the bus stand early. In a hurry to reach the bus stand, they put at risk the lives of the road users, they complained.

Just look at the condition of the road, disgraceful and apart from that the monster buses. This can only be solved if separate lanes are marked for different categories of vehicles.

This will be one more page to cover news, increase blogs and comments later will be remembered only when another motor cyclist meets with the same fate. People driving big or huge vehicles specially Bus and Lorries just forget that the people who ride bikes and Cycles are human beings and their life is as much valuable as theirs.

Human lives have no value anymore in this city. The authorities enforcing the law do nothing. We the people have to take care of ourselves, ultimately whatever happens, we are the pawns that suffer. The little girl will never have her father to pick her up from school again.  This is very sad. I pray the almighty comforts the family of the deceased.

The District authorities are turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to the woes of the Daily commuters inside the city with special reference to Motorists. These express buses and CIty buses drive recklessly with no regard to anyone around. We the motorists are only at their mercy.

Sir! how long will this continue dont you see the need to stop this menace by having more scientific speed breakers inside the city with the speed limit being specified inside the city. The District Authorities, Traffic Police and all concerned are not intersted in curbing this nuisance. What a pity? After hearing and seeing will you please do something........

Inna lillahi wa inna elaihi rajiwoon. please accept deepest condolense to H I Khader family. may his soul rest in peace. It is very difficult to travel from the udupi Mangalore route because of these kinds of speeding drivers.  The government must instruct the expres bus services about the speed limit. If the speed exceeds 65 or 70, then they should be fined. This helps public to travel safely and also penalty amount will be revenue for the government.
