Mangaluru: Konkani serial ‘Mrs Meena and Family’ on Daijiworld TV from Feb 1

Mangaluru, Jan 30: 'Mrs Meena and Family’, the much-awaited Konkani serial will be telecasted on Daijiworld TV 24x7 from February 1 onwards.

The telecast is scheduled on very Friday at 9 pm and will be repeated on Saturday at 10 am and Sunday at 4 pm.

The 30-minute serial is based on family values and gives the message to the viewer as to how to live in a family by taking care of each other. The plot of each episode is different. However, the most common plot is the quarrel between the mother, son, daughter-in-law and a family friend. Though the entire family has a strong dislike towards each other, they share mutual respect. Every plot is based on current affairs and social issues.

In association with Daijiworld TV 24x7, Frank Fernandes who already a well known producer in Konkani, Kannada and Tulu film industry, is producing 'Mrs Meena and Family’ along with James Mendonca, an NRI businessman and philanthropist. However, it is the first project for James in the entertainment industry.

Well known Konkani writer and Mangaluru based journalist Stany Bela has directed the serial. He entered the entertainment industry as an associate director with the Konkani hit ‘Ek Aslyar Ek Na’, which was also produced by Frank Fernandes. Along with direction, Stany has also written the story for the serial and handled the script and screenplay.

The cinematography of the serial has been done by the talented Daniel Mangalore, Ranjan Shirva and Durgaprasad Kakkepadavu. Well-known photo journalist Dayanand Kukkaje is also part of this serial as a technical advisor. Nisar Ahmed is the unit in-charge while Praveen Tauro has assisted in PRO works of this project. Anush Pandith is the production controller.

Rita Fernandes Bendur, Jeevan Vas Kulshekar, Sapna Saldanha Vamanjoor, Mellu Valencia, Shanthi Priya Lasrado, and Sheldon Tauro Bondel are in the lead. The cast also includes Dolla Mangaluru, Shrudha Jawlakar, Santhosh D'Souza Mukamar and Felcy Lobo Derebail.

Noted musician and composer Ashith Pinto has composed the background score and music for the title song, while singer Prabhath Shetty has lent his voice. Glany Fernades, Kulshekar has penned the lyrics. The editing is done by Noel and dubbing is done at Daijiworld Audio Visual Studio by Srikanth Srinivas. The ambient lights have been provided by Daijiworld Outdoor Unit.

The post-production work of the serial has been done at Daijiworld Audio Visual Pvt Ltd.

‘Mrs Meena and Family’ has been shot around Vamanjoor and other parts of the city. The first schedule of shooting started in last September 2018 and was completed in the end of November. The second phase of shoot will start in February.

    Marvellous idea indeed. We shall be happy to witness this program hopefully from this end. Thanks for the kind efforts and generosity of Mr.James Mendonca. Please guide us the best way to watch this program bearing in mind that we have a time difference of nearly eleven hours in the East Coast of America.
