Chamarajnagar, Jan 31: In an incident that occurred at Kollegal of the district, a woman and her paramour was killed by her former lover.

The deceased persons are Maheshwari and her paramour Puttaswamy. Prima facie it looked as if Puttaswamy has killed Maheshwari and then committed suicide by hanging. However, on deeper investigation, the real twist of the story was unearthed.

As per the details available, Maheshwari (35), a resident of Doddindawadi village of Kollegal taluk had illicit relation with Puttaswamy. Maheshwari is married and has three children from her legal husband Siddanna, who runs a tea stall in the village. Her elder daughter is also married off. However, Maheshwari had physical relationship since the past four to five months, with a young man called Puttaswamy, who is a resident of the same village.

Kavana, daughter of the slain lady Maheshwari said, "On Wednesday, January 30, my mother went out of the house at 8 pm. She did not return till 10 pm. At 10 pm, a man called Prakash called me and said that he has killed my mom and her body is near Singanallur and he cut the call. On searching, we found the body of Maheshwari indeed lying on the outskirts of Singanallur. In addition, the body of Puttaswamy was also found hanging nearby on the pillar of a small water tank."

It is learnt that deceased Maheshwari had illicit relationship with Prakash, a resident of Y K Mole village of Yalandur taluk. Apart from this affair, she also developed physical relationship with Puttaswamy since the past four to five months. Prakash, the former lover, who could not tolerate the behaviour of Maheshwari murdered both of them. First he killed Puttaswamy by strangling him with a saree and hanged his body on the pillar of a small water tank. Then he dropped a boulder on the head of Maheshwari, which killed her instantly. A case is registered in this regard in the Kollegal police station. Police have visited the spot of the murder and continuing with the investigation. Murderer Prakash, who had called the daughter of Maheshwari is arrested by the police.
