Abu Dhabi, Jan 31: Mangalore Cup 2019 (Season-7) over arm cricket tournament will be held under the auspices of the MCC (Mangalorean Cricket Club) at Sheikh Zayed International Cricket stadium, on February 22.
MCC Board has decided to give opportunity to all Indian nationality players. Meantime, players with UAE residency visa are allowed to play in the tournament whereas visit visa players are not allowed to play in the tournament. Match will be for six overs-a-side, and hard tennis MRI ball will be utilized. Winners’ trophy and cash prize of AED 11,000 and runners-up trophy and cash prize of AED 6,000 will be awarded.
Along with the MCC tournament, Steps & Strings will be conducting Dancespiration-2019, UAE’s biggest dance contest (Group & Solo) at the stadium. Kishore Aman Shetty and Sahil will be the celebrity judges for this historical event. Champions of the competition will receive 17,000 AED and runners-up will receive AED 12,000.
Also, family entertainment, kids activates, ladies mehendi competition will make this season enthralling. It will attract sports and dance lovers to the international stadium.
MCC president Lathif KH informed the media, “This is our seventh consecutive year of MCC tournaments. It is getting bigger and better by years. This event at international cricket stadium will attract thousands of sports lovers. We have received immense support from cricket lovers and Kannadigas of United Arab Emirates for the last six seasons. We are expecting more teams and around 10,000 crowd in this year.”
Many delegates, legendary cricket players will be participating in the opening and prize distribution ceremony. A book on ‘MCC Milestones’ will be released at the event. Entertainment and lucky draw prizes will be given to spectators.
Cash prize and trophy will be given in following categories: Man of the series, Best batsman, Best bowler, Best Keeper, Best fielder, Best all-rounder, Best catcher, Man of the match in the final and Man of match in every league.
