Kuwait, Feb 2: An energetic team of talented artistes, under the leadership of Lucy Lobo Aranha, organized its most-awaited charity show ‘Pinnacle 2019’ on Friday February 1, at American International School Maidan Hawalli from 4.30 pm onwards. The show comprised of melodious songs by Sarah Lobo, foot-tapping dances by Jhankaar Dancy Academy and Dance in Beats and a hilarious Konkani comedy drama ‘Phalyan Poleyan’, written by Konkani Comedy Prince Pradeep Barboza, Paladka and directed by Lucy Lobo Aranha, Gurpur.
The programme started with introduction by Kuwait's popular multilingual MC Lloyd D'Souza followed by welcome speech by Lucy Lobo Aranha. Fr Antony Lopez and Fr Noel D'Almeida were the chief guests who also spoke few words appreciating the efforts of team for the benefit of the society through entertainment. Writer Pradeep Barboza Paladka, Dubai was honoured during the event. The drama artistes, sponsors and media persons were honoured in recognition of their contribution.
Sarah Lobo entertained the crowd with Konkani Song 'Moje Kaliz Mogar podlan'. Foot-tapping dances were performed by Jhankaar Dancy Academy and Dance in Beats. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the fusion of different form of Indian dances with a pinch of patriotism.
The much-awaited drama ‘Phalyan Poleyan’ started with a big bang as expected. The drama revolved around two families living in the same neighbourhood looking for proposals for their sons. When a retired teacher arrives with his beautiful daughter in the same neighbourhood, both boys including their mothers vie to win over the girl without knowing the girl’s past life. Thus many hilarious situations follow. The drama ends with a strong message to the society about the true values of a family and importance of forgiveness.
The team succeeded in tickling the ribs of the audience and bringing out the emotions to its maximum. The artistes Lucy Lobo Aranha (Direction and artiste), Pradeep Barboza Paladka (Writer and artiste), Rajesh Fernandes, Avil Fernandes, Blen D'Souza, Cynthia Pinto, Helen D'Souza, Jenivia D’Cunha, Johnson D'Almeida, Lional Mascarenhas, Sathish Saldanha, Sunny Menezes, Walty Santhmayor, Wilson D’Souza and George Pinto gave their maximum to fill the life in the characters of the drama. The drama was written by Pradeep Barboza, Paladka and directed by Lucy Lobo Aranha.
The programme was well compered by Lloyd D'Souza, Rinitha d'Souza and Flawia lobo. Raina Pillai thanked everyone for their contribution and presence. Stage setting was done by Johnson D'Almeida, Anil Tauro, Nelson D'Silva, Oswald D'Souza and wilfred Mendonca. Background score was provided by Suneeth Noronha and Purandara Manchi, make- up was done by Gretta D'Sa, choreography by Zaneta Mirekar, lights by Movine Nazareth and lights and sounds were provided by Waves Event Engineering (Anand D'Souza).

Director Lucy Lobo Aranha has done an excellent job at her maiden attempt by directing the drama professionally and presenting it with highest standards using local amateur artistes. The proceeds of the event will be sent to Maria Ashram Bala Sadana Orphanage, Bidar (in North Karnataka), an orphanage that provides education to child laborers, school dropouts and orphans.
