Mangaluru: 2 smuggling attempts at airport – gold worth Rs 15.81 lac seized

Mangaluru, Feb 3: The officers of customs at Mangaluru International Airport once again foiled two attempts to smuggle gold on Saturday, February 2.

The officers seized gold totally weighing 475.36 grams valued at Rs 15,81,000 in two separate cases. Both the passengers had arrived on Spice Jet flight SG60 from Dubai.

In the first case, the officers seized foreign origin gold 24KT weighing 358.78 grams net and valued at Rs 11.93 lac, concealed in the form of foils in check in luggage of passenger who arrived from Dubai.

In the second case seized foreign origin gold (1 tola bar) 24KT weighing 116.580 grams net and valued at Rs 3.88 lac, concealed in rectum of passenger.
