Bengaluru: Operation Lotus - one more attempt before Lok Sabha elections?

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Feb 4: BJP, which is trying hard since a month to weaken the strength of the coalition government in the state, is planning to play the last game before Lok Sabha elections using the four disgruntled MLAs of the Congress party.

As the joint session of the assembly is nearing, the BJP is thinking that if some of the MLAs of Congress resign within two days, then it will be able to pull more from Congress, based on the resignation on this move of some disgruntled MLAs of Congress. At the same time, the state BJP leaders are watching their steps as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah will be visiting the state in order to organize the party and campaign for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. It is learnt that the state BJP leaders are planning to conduct 'Operation Lotus' in such a manner, which will not affect the stature of the party or the national leaders.

The BJP has thought to use the last weapon, only if a situation that is complimentary to move the no confidence motion is created in the political environment and for sure this will be the last attempt to destabilize the coalition government before the elections. It might be recalled that in the month of January, state BJP tried to reduce the numbers of the coalition government by taking all its MLAs to a resort in Gurugram for five days. Though the developments which followed this resort stay were complimentary to the effort of BJP to make inroads, the expected outcome could not be achieved due to certain unforeseen incidents.

The joint session and the budget session of the assembly will be held soon. The move of some of the disgruntled MLAs of the Congress party including Ramesh Jarkiholi is still a mystery. Congress MLAs like Ramesh Jarkiholi, Mahesh Kumatalli, Nagendra and Umesh Jadhav have maintained a distance from the party and most of them are residing in undisclosed locations. There is also a rumour that some of the dissatisfied MLAs of Congress are going to resign before Wednesday, February 6.

If some of the disgruntled MLAs of Congress resign, then other MLAs will also follow suit in phases and the numbers of the coalition government will reduce naturally. If this happens as expected, then further developments will take place as planned said a senior state leader of BJP as per reliable sources.

The BJP party workers are complaining that the work for the coming Lok Sabha elections is not taking place in the expected pace as most of the state BJP leaders are concentrating their efforts in reducing the numbers of the coalition government in a bid to bring it down. It is learnt that once this last ditch attempt of 'Lotus Operation' is over, all the state BJP leaders will get back to organization of work related to the Lok Sabha elections.

First opportunity to form the Govt was given to him by Governor for he had more number of MLA's but he failed to prove the simple majority to form the Govt.
As he failed, INC + JDS joined, proved majority and staked the claim form the government.
Thereafter BSY is not doing any other job, not allowing the Govt to do their job.
He is desperately trying to pouch other parties MLA's to topple the Govt.
In a way, BSY is helping INC + JDS to forget differences and forge stronger unity in upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He could not prove majority then why is he trying to break now. Really a shame for him and his power hungry party. Some law should be there to punish them or stop them to doing evil things.
