M'lore: `Venkata in Sankata'- Devdas Kapikad’s Debut Movie in Theatres on Feb 13

Mangalore, Jan 24: Tulu dramatist Devdas Kapikad’s debut Kannada movie ‘Venkata in Sankata’, will hit screens across the state on Friday February 13.
Director-cum-actor Ramesh said in a press meet here that the all work on the movie was completed and it had turned out to be a fun-filled family entertainer.
“In the movie, we have introduced some new faces and it has a good script, young star cast, lively music, and also famous dramatist Devdas Kapikad”, said Ramesh who is also the hero.
“Comedy film means minimum guarantee”, said Ramesh when asked about choosing to make a comedy. “But casting is important. Good casting makes a comedy movie a super hit. Last year’s movie, ‘Rama Shama Bhama’ was a hit because of its cast”, he said.
Kapikad, talking of his experience working with the team said, “I had a great experience with the team and I hope I will get another chance to work with the same team. I am grateful to be born after acting in this movie”, said Kapikad.
Sharmila Mandre, the heroine, who is part of a comedy movie for the first time said that working with the Venkata team was a very good experience and called it a comical journey in her life.
Two other heroines of the movie, Meghana and Anusha, producer Narendra Manglani, and music director Ricky Kej also spoke.
Ramesh and Kapikad said some of the dialogues from the movie at the press conference. The heroines also joined in.
Ramesh also said that there were plans to make a sequel to ‘Venkata in Sankata’ based on the response to the first movie.
About the Movie
‘Venkata in Sankata’ is a production of Sinema House. In this, Ramesh is the hero in the role of police constable Venkata who wants to be promoted to commissioner. However, he fails to achieve his aim and gets demoted due to various problems.
Devadas Kapikad is police constable Rajaram Laddu who is Venkata’s friend and also dreams of a promotion. Sharmila Mandre, Anusha, and Meghana, are the three heroines. Comedy actor Umesh, Umashree, K Basavayya, and Kashi, are all part of the movie, said Ramesh. P K H Das is the cameraman and Ricky Kej is the music director.
