Mumbai, Jan 27: The annual family get together of members of the metro’s Bhandary Seva Samiti was held on Sunday January 25 at Radhabai T Bhandary Auditorium of Bunts Sangh, Kurla (East).
Various sports competitions were held for members and their children at the Bunts Sangh grounds. Money Fold Co-Operative Credit Society chairman Suresh Bhandary inaugurated the sports competitions on Sunday morning.
Suresh Bhandary said that the annual family get together by the Bhandary community in the metro, conveys their unity in diversity.
Bhandary Samiti’s new president Balakrishna Bhandary is an up and coming leader of the community and has proved his mettle by organizing innovative programmes despite being busy with managing his own business, Bhagirat Chemicals. His commitment to the community indeed deserves to be commended, opined Suresh Bhandary.
Balakrishna Bhandary in his presidential address said that the community should surge ahead by shunning selfishness and work for the prosperity of all communities. Prosperity in all communities brings about equality in society, he added.
Samiti vice-presidents Padmanabha Bhandary and Chittaranjan Kumar, honorary chief secretary lawyer R M Bhandary, honourary treasurer B Venkatesh Bhandary, scholarship committee president Shivaram Bhandary, advisory committee president lawyer Sundar G Bhandary and women’s wing president Rukmini Bhandary, were present on the dais.
Joint secretaries Prashant Bhandary and Vijay Bhandary Nallasopara, joint treasurers Ramesh Bhandary and Prabhakar Bhandary, Samiti members lawyer S G Bhandary, Vishwanat Bhandary, lawyer Shekar Bhandary, Balakrishna Bhandary Puttur, Raviraj Bhandary, Uday Bhandary, Karunakar Bhandary, Rukmaya Bhandary, Sadashiv Bhandary, Sudhakar Bhandary, Sadashiv Mundkoor, Prashant Dombivli, Kamalaksha Bhandary, advisory committee Narayan Bhandary, Gurudas Bhandary and lawyer Shekar Bhandary, education and building committee Ramesh Bhandary, Kiran Bhandary, and Jaya Bhandary, were also present on the occasion.
A Bharatanatyam dance by Nidi Bhandary Vasai, disciple of Nrutya Vaibhav Guru Lata Surendra and a group dance by Sanjana Bhandary and team were held as part of the entertainment programme. Devotional music by Ramakrishna Katukukke group and musical extravaganza by metro’s Kala Sourab musicians including Padmanabha Sasihithlu were also staged on the occasion.
Kala Sourabha director Vijay Bhandary invoked the prayers. Padmanabh Sasihitlu compered the programme.
