Udupi, Feb 12: Deputy commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has directed officials to submit details of polling booths where least number of people came to vote in last Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections and also vulnerable booths where voters are afraid to come.

Chairing a meeting of district sector officials and police officials in Atal Bihari Vajpayee auditorium, Rajathadri on Tuesday, she set a four day deadline to officials to submit the details.

She asked officials to bring to her notice in case of impediments to hold free and transparent elections. She asked for a report about people who create an atmosphere of fear among voters, about instances of luring voters in areas where a candidate has received more than 75 per cent of the total votes and unpleasant incidents during elections. She asked local BLO, sector officials and police officials to conduct joint investigations and submit the report before February 16.

The deputy commissioner has directed the officials to completely immerse in the election work assigned to them, without giving room for lapses. The deputy commissioner appointed 92 sector officials and 132 police sector officials for poll duty.

Additional deputy commissioner Vidya Kumari, ASP Kumar Chandra, Kundapur sub division officer Madhukeshwara and all taluk tahsildars were present.

As concern citizen of India, I request Deputy commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati to ensure to install 'Jamming device' in all polling booths before and after the votes being cast. Also, send the advisory to all the booth security agents to fix CCTV with 24 Hrs power supply and stand by generator.
