Karkala, Jan 28: Bellary Bishop Dr Henry D’Souza offered the festal Eucharistic Mass at 6.00 pm on Tuesday January 27, along with several priests from across Mangalore diocese, at the annual feast of the St Lawrence Pilgrimage Centre, Attur, near here.



Bishop D’Souza, in his homily to the gathering, emphasized the need to bear witnesses to Jesus Christ like St Lawrence who had undergone persecutions at the hands of perpetrators, in the backdrop of ongoing terrorism and communal violence threatening the nation and its citizens. He urged everyone to pray to St Lawrence to protect our nation and to bring succour to the sick and the ailing.


 
Thousands of devotees irrespective of caste, creed, and religion, thronged the pilgrimage centre throughout the day. Several devotees have been camping at the centre over the past few days in order to attend the festal Mass on Tuesday.

    My memories went back to karkala, Attur feast. Its almost now six years that I am missing this holy feast of St. Lawrance Church Attur, karkala. Now by looking at this photographs i felt like i just attended this holy land after 6 years. Thanks to Daiji. St. Lawrance pray for us. Praise the loard.

    When I was in mangalore, [belman]I had been for the feast,  now we are in mumbai this time we thought to visit the church on feast day. beause of some problem we could'nt, but we thankfull DAIJIWORLD.COM.     St. Lawrence is a Saint , who gave his life to strengthen his towards God, and for his commandments, Let us all, worshippers pray to the Saint with greater faith so that the Saints intercession will benefit our life and life may be dedicated to our Lord Jesus Christ.     It is really our faith makes us stronger and this is an example of all faiths coming together to pray in such a wonderful place of great St. Lawrence Attur, Karkala. I love this place and feast as i used to visit in the native, really we are blessed with so many festivals around us and this is one of of these. Praise and thank God for the gift of St. Lawrence.
