"Worship is essential to experience divinity, similarly volunteers also play a key role in ensuring that the divine grace reaches the devotees at large.  Gowd Saraswat Brahmins (GSBs) Ganeshotsav Committee has extended its voluntary services that have earned them appreciation and good wishes.  Godliness lies in voluntary service to community brethren while devotion and willingness to serve leads one to humbleness.  Worship takes one to spiritual bliss by cleansing the soul,"said HDFC Bank executive director Paresh D Sukthankar.
 
Paresh Sukthankar was delivering his presidential address at the  GSBs annual friendly meet, held on Monday January 26, at Dwaraknat Bhavan of Sri Gokarna Partagali Jeevottam Math, Vadala (West) here.  It was organized by the local GSB Ganeshotsav Committee. 
 

 

Uttara Kannada  district Yuvavahini president and Honnavar Urban Co-Operative Bank chairman Raghav Baleri, who  was the guest  of honour, distributed  prizes to the winners of various competitions and felicitated community senior citizens. 
 
Vadala Partagali Jeevottam Math managing trustee Vaman R Kamat, honorary secretary Ullas Kamat, Vadala GSB Ganeshotsav Committee secretary G Saraf, committee president N N Pal, treasurer G M Kamat and others were present at the dais.
 
Devotional singing, competitions in arts, Rangoli, fun fair, fancy dress, dances, one act play, lucky draw and other games were held as part of annual friendly meet.
