New Delhi, Feb 21 (DC): Hearing in Sunanda Pushkar death case began on Thursday in a sessions court in Delhi.

Congress MP and Sunanda Pushkar’s husband Shashi Tharoor has been charged as the key accused, with the prosecution booking him under IPC sections 498A (subjecting wife to cruelty) and 306 (abetment to suicide) was present in the court.

Police have asked 10 days' time from the court to argue on charges leveled against Shashi Tharoor. While Tharoor’s lawyer Vikas Pahwa said that they have filed revision petition for non-compliance of evidence under section 207 of the CrPC (supply the accused of a copy of police report and other documents).

The court has adjourned the case until 2 pm today.

On 4 February, the Patiala House Court sent the case for trial after dismissing BJP MP Subramanian Swamy’s plea seeking to assist the court in the matter.

Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a suite of a luxury hotel in the city on the night of January 17, 2014.

The couple was staying in the hotel as the official bungalow of Tharoor was being renovated at that time.

Without any intention to hurt anyone, it's very painful to note that the case is coming up for hearing after so many years!
We are talking about high technology but sadly our judiciary is working like in still in Bullock cart age.
It's high time to rcompletely computerize and reform it for speedy delivery of justice atleast within a year. Treatment is necessary when the person is ill. What's the point of later on?

Computers can't perform the jobs of lawyers and judges (at this stage at least!). The reason for such a mammoth backlog is number of courts and judges isn't in tune with our population and the illegal activities thereof. Also the very less number of work hours, too many holidays and leaves make the situation worse.

    Yes true,
As we have increased Doctors and hospitals according to seize of population and sickness,
It's necessary to increase Hospitals, Judges Advocates and related staff according to size of population and cases.
Such move would increase employment also along with timely justice.
