Mangaluru, Jul 25: A 66-year-old pedestrian who sustained critical injuries after being hit by a car while crossing the road near Mudipu succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Thursday night.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Khader (66), a resident of Alekal.
According to police, the accident occurred on Thursday evening when Abdul Khader was crossing the road near Mudipu and was hit by a car. The car driver immediately shifted him to a private hospital in Deralakatte for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries later that night.

A case has been registered against the car driver at the Mangaluru South Traffic police station, and the vehicle has been seized for further investigation.
Abdul Khader is survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, and a large number of relatives.
Several leaders, including Karnataka Congress State Committee coordinator Farooq Ullal, Congress leader Mustafa Abdulla, Ullal Youth Congress vice-president Jaffer U N, and former Ullal City Municipal Council president U A Ismail, have expressed condolences over his demise.
