According to information available the new Police Commissioner comes to The City of Mangalore with an excellent track record. Obviously he is kind to the Good and Just people but ruthless to the criminals.

I have had an occasion of meeting Mr. Patil regarding the situation prevailing in Mangalore with regard to auto traffic and he indeed gave me a patient hearing and he is keen on taking corrective measures wherever and whenever called. Time will prove this.

If you have given complaints of traffic offences just track or file a RTI to find out in how many cases the traffic police have actually collected fines from the offenders, it is shocking- less than 20 % they only send notices and only honest people pay up. The rest go scott free.

Hope this is not like 'Aaramba Shoora'. Every officer in the beginning of taking charge do something to project themselves as strict and upright. As the time passes, they also fall into the trap laid by entrepreneurs, politicians etc of the city.

I hope at least the two bars which open early in the morning near KSRTC will be stopped from opening not before 11am
