Mangaluru: Former union minister Dhananjay Kumar passes away at 67

Mangaluru Mar 4: Former union minister V Dhananjay Kumar passed away here at a private hospital in Mangaluru on Monday, March 4.

Dhananjay Kumar was 67-year-old and was suffering from illness since a long time. He was admitted to a private hospital four months ago as his health condition worsened.

Dhananjay Kumar, who started his political career in BJP in the year 1983, was elected as MLA and subsequently became a MP and worked as a minister in the central government. When Yeddyurappa established KJP political party, he joined the same.

Though Yeddyurappa joined BJP later, Dhananjay was denied entry into BJP by the top leaders of the party. Then he joined the Congress party.

On March 5, the mortal remains of the late minister will be kept at his residence at Kadri Kambala from 7 am to 10 am after which it will be taken to his home town Venur.
