Mangaluru, Feb 4: After assuming the office as commissioner of police of the city just 10 days ago, Sandeep Patil is coming out with rules and regulations that will make life easier for the citizens living in the city.
In one more similar action, Sandeep Patil has informed that strict action will be taken against vehicles stopping on the zebra crossing at signal when the red light is on. It is noticed that most of the vehicle drivers and riders in the city park their vehicles on the zebra crossing lines, causing inconvenience to the pedestrians, who are forced to cross the road in a zig zag manner with great difficulty. This becomes more difficult for women and elderly people.
It can be noted that, work on putting zebra crossing signals took place intensively during late last night in areas like Nantoor, KPT and other important places where traffic conjunction is high.
Sandeep Patil is 2004 IPS batch officer hailing from Bidar. He completed his education in Bengaluru. He has served as SP of Ballari, Kodagu, Davanagere and Belagavi. He also served as DCP of Mangaluru North and Central, SP intelligence Bengaluru, DIG KSRP and DIG CAR, before taking charge as police commissioner of Mangaluru.
