Dharwad: Mandya Lok Sabha seat allotted to JD(S) - Siddaramaiah

Daijiworld Media Network - Dharwad (SP)

Dharwad, Mar 5: Chairman of the coordination committee of the state government and former chief minister, Siddaramaiah, revealed that Mandya Lok Sabha constituency has been ceded to JD(S). He was speaking to media persons on Tuesday March 5 at Hubballi airport.

On the interest shown by Sumalatha Ambareesh, wife of former Congress MP, Ambareesh, who is no more, to contest the Lok Sabha election from Mandya, he clarified that the decision to contest as an independent candidate rests on her discretion. As this seat was earlier represented by JD(S) candidates, Congress could not lay claim on it, he explained.

Son of chief minister, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, is expected to be fielded by JD(S) from Mandya. Sumalatha Ambareesh has already expressed her decision to enter the fray from this constituency as a Congress candidate or independent.

Siddaramaiah, who said that seat sharing matrix has not yet been finalized for all seats in the state, added that the sharing of the constituencies is likely to be finalized between the coalition partners during the talks in the next three to four days. He said as per internal survey, the coalition candidates are likely to win about 20 seats in the Lok Sabha election from Karnataka.

On the issue of resignation by Umesh Jadhav, a Congress MLA from Chincholi, he felt that the Speaker may not accept it as complaint under provisions of anti-defection law has already been lodged by the party with the Speaker against Jadhav. Siddaramaiah recalled that he had written to the Speaker against four party MLAs, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Umesh Jadhav, Narendra, and Mahesh Kumthalli, seeking their disqualification under anti defection law for anti-party activities.

Siddaramaiah said that he had heard that BJP has offered the MLAs over 25 to 30 crore rupees each, but hastened to add that he does not have proof about this offer.

In the recently concluded assembly election, if Congress, BSP had allied in Madhya Pradesh, the map would look radically different.
According to the report the combined vote percentage of 45.63% would have given a Congress-BSP alliance 140 seats in Madhya Pradesh and reduced the BJP to just 85 seats.
Congress is late to realize that delays are costly. The BJP in the other hand is playing watchful eye on the distance looking for dissidence emerging from both parties for its own strategy.
One of the elected MLA of Congress is already joining BJP to take on opposition leader and JPC leader Mallikarjun Kharge worries are increased for the coalition.
The JD(S)-Congress is slow to act. At the same time BJP this time outsmarted the coalition. It has given the fresh energy to the 'Operation Kamala 4' for which is much anticipated before the Lok Sabha elections.

@Ronald D, Udupi,Yes I agree with your points. That was only a waves, which created a history.Even if a lay man go and contest with BJP ticket in Loka Sabha election,he will win only in the name of Modi wave.Public will not evaluate candidates capabilities, educational background, efficiency, calibre and political background. They simply vote in the name of Modi. This is the trend.Whichever the party,we need stable, corrupt free, transparent government with efficient governance and able leader, who can lead us in a better way regardless of the party,he or she belongs.

Actually in Mandya, Nikhil Gowda, DG's grandson, Kumaraswamy's and Anitha's son will contest is a no brainer. Gowdas have hijacked Congress, they will contest in no less than 10 seats

Siddaramaiah has an old political score to settle with Kumaraswamy and Devagowda family. The best way is to cede Mandya seat to Nikhil Kumaraswamy and prompt Sumalatha to contest as an independent from Mandya. BJP will offer unconditional support to Ms. Sumalatha on the basis of winnability and Nikhil will be flattened on his home turf on maiden appearance. Indian politics are rapid chess games and what a grand idea from the most crafty politician Karnataka has ever seen.....!

Other than sympathy wave does she have any experience and knowledge to help the constituency?? We have seen DK MPs won on waves and hardly any contribution! We need people who can improve and stabilize Karnataka economically, infrastructure and also industrial growth!! Good governance is not possible by emotions....it needs brain and dedication, track record.

Giving ticket to Sumalatha to contest from Congress Mandya seat is like committing suicide for Congress - JDS alliance. Gowdas will vote against Congress in other constituencies.....Sumalatha can build political career through work and then contest elections....

JDS story, is like a story of industralist , who on seeing his employee admiring his new car, advises him to work harder so that the employer can buy one more new car next year. Similarly when JDS get more seats in the coalition, more number of Gowdas family member can contest.Poor JDS workers can only pick up the crumbs left by this corrupt family.
