Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 7: In the annual 'Swachh Sarvekshan 2019' survey of clean cities conducted across India, Mysuru has succeeded in being ranked within the first ten ranks among Indian cities as far as meeting cleanliness parameters of the survey is concerned. For the third time in succession, Mysuru finds itself in the top ten, and notably, it has improved its ranking to third spot from the eighth spot it won last year.

For the third time in a row, Indore has been adjudged the cleanest city of India with the second spot going to Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh.

Why always blame Modi..Modi is prime minister of India, not just Mangalore. For him Mangalore is just another city of India. It is duty of local MP and MLA to fight at high level and get funds and investment. See how Tamil Nadu and Andhra fight with central government and get major investments for their tier 2 cities which are not as eligible like Mangalore. In Mangalore we just chose useless fellows who have no voice. Save Mangalore from migration of its youths, or else ...!!!

Why Blame MLA / MP or Govt? Are we the citizens of Mangalore not equally responsible for this mess? how many of us are really concerned or bothered about the cleanliness of our area? how many of us have true civic sense? we have seen many times people chewing paan and spitting on walls or streets. eating and throwing leftovers or plastic containers. dumping waste on streets etc. until we become responsible it will never improve.

It is easy to blame municipality, MLAs and govt for not doing their duty. But as a citizen, we should segregate waste and make proper disposal bin from where municipality can pick it up. We are so busy, we don't have time time to segregate wet and dry waste. It is easy to pack everything in one plastic bag and dump it in the road corner.

Mayor/corporators are to blame. Nagara swachchate actually falls in municipal/corporation responsibility. Lets hold them accountable.

What are our local authorities doing? Are they elected to just get a post of a Councillor/Corporator? City cleanliness is the city's responsibility, village cleanliness is Village's responsibility.
