Dubai, Feb 13: A jam packed crowd gathered at the Grand Hotel, Dubai to celebrate and participate at the annual Shirva Fest organized by USWAS, an association of Shirva parishioners in Dubai on Friday, 13 February 2009.

The day-long event began with bestowing the “Jewel of Shirva” by USWAS on the chief guest of the day Fr Valerian Mendonca, parishioner of Shirva and current director of Sandesha Foundation, who arrived all the way from Mangalore.

known talent Roshan Menezes,  Sharon D’souza, Manoj Menezes  and their teams based at Abu Dhabi and Dubai participated in innovative skits .

Compere Uttam Menezes kept the audience on their toes regularly giving away attractive spot prizes.

All the sponsors of the event were felicitated by presenting flower bouquets.

Earlier, at a  brief stage programe the Chief Guest Fr Valerian Mendonca  and  Colin Quadros were  honored for their academic excellence.

Recorded message of the  Shirva parish priest Fr Richard Coelho was delivered. In his
message,  Fr Coelho thanked all the  Shirva  parishioners living in UAE for supporting the
parish back home in many ways.
