Bengaluru: Nothing special for these ladies on women’s day

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Mar 9: International Women’s Day was celebrated throughout the world on Friday, March 8. Schools, associations, political parties, airports and many such entities were seen celebrating the special day in India.

Carriers like Air India celebrated the day with all-women crew flights to several destinations. Indian Railways too did the same. Many such unique celebrations were witnessed in many parts of the country.

But some women, especially labourers, spent the day without knowing that it was their day. For them there was no celebration. There was no one even to greet them. They had to do their daily jobs with sweating in order to earn their daily bread as usual.

Pictures say everything.

It is sad that such people cannot afford to have something special on any day, forget about Women's Day. Did the person who hired these hard working ladies get a gift. It is a big, big NO AND NO. For these laborers, it is just work and work. I feel sorry for them.

Many of our ladies do not know what's special on march 8th ? It's just an ordinary day for them. Even I wished some of our ladies in neighbourhood "ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ದಿವಸದ ಶುಭಾಷಯಗಳು" they asked me "ಅಂಚ ಪಂಡ ಎಂಚಿನಯೇ"? They are worried of work/house/husband /children.. Not bothered about themselves.. May god grant them good health and bless them abundantly..

Life is a mystery. Without work no food on table women day or men day. It is all done by humans of these days to make money and make us poor in spending on materials. Work hard, pray to almighty for good health and live a good life like the ladies in the photos. These ladies have smile on thier faces evan though they do hard labor . At the end of the day that is what matters. More fights for more rights is not happines.

Very true! Not even them but all women have nothing special on women's day. No relax, no free, no rest, as usual busy in their life. If the Company or Industry will give holiday on women's day really we women's are happy and we can enjoy at least one day in the year. But there is no holiday as usual heavy work load.
Till now one lady cannot go out after 9 pm alone. No freedom to wear any type of dress. If a lady wear short dress cheap mentality people way of look very bad and even way of thinking also!
In foreign country ladies alone going out in the midnight. Specially Kuwait (Muslim Country) ladies going out alone in the midnight. But in India ladies very risk to go out in the midnight.
I think there is no meaning to celebrate Women's Day in India.

In Kuwait crimes like abduction and rape of well known personality has happened besides many other similar offences. Even today very few countries in the world are safe for women.

yes you are right. but in India there is lot of discrimination in the labour. besides, coolie workers must get lot of facilities, respect for their work by the government as well as from the industrialists.
