M'luru: During Indira regime, we won war but Cong never played politics - Siddaramaiah

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru(DC)

Mangaluru, Mar 10: Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Sunday, March 10 took potshots at union home minister Rajnath Singh for his comments at over the recent air strike by Indian Air Force (IAF) in Pakistan.

Siddaramaiah arrived in Mangaluru before leaving to Parivarthan rally of the Congress in Udupi. Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said, "No one should play politics over air strikes which IAF carried out. The forces have won wars against Pakistan under the government led by Indira Gandhi. We have also helped Bangladesh get independence. But no one played politics over it."

It may be recalled that union home minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that other than the surgical strike across the LoC in 2016 and the air strikes inside Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack, there was a ‘third strike’ as well. The minister, however, stopped short of providing details of the third one.

Meanwhile commenting on JD(S)-Congress seat sharing formula ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, he said that Mandya constituency might be given to the JD(S) and the candidate is yet to be finalised. He also said that both the parties would fight polls together.

Earlier, Siddaramaiah visited Polali Rajarajeshwari temple along with district in-charge minister U T Khader, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao, MLC Ivan D’Souza, former MLA Ramanath Rai, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik and other local party leaders.

We don't dispute credibility of Congress during Indira Gandhi, except imposition of Emergency. But good for nothing prime ministers came thereafter for two decades from Congress. Why you still prefer to bask on age old glory and consciously silent on that? Notwithstanding the above, Congress as of now lack material for a credible prime minister. Rahul Gandhi yesterday questioned release of Azhar Mahmood, a decision taken after all party meet at Delhi where congress endorsed it. He is proving to be inefficient and immature day by day.

during that time no one asked the proof and no opposition party asked for peace talk with Pakistan. moreover the entire opposition party supported the ruling congress party govt as one nation concept. even Atal Bihari Vajapayee supported Indira Gandhi decision & called her as Durgi. but what happened now? you people don't have faith on our great army & asked the proof. indirectly supported the pak & you sidu asked for peace talk. what a shame! you are worried about vote bank politics. even your collation govt asked the people don't celebrate the attack on terror camp at balkot. what does it mean & what message it will give to our enemy country? there is a limit for politics, nation first then your politics. don't try to divide country again.

If East Pakistan is not liberated to become 'Bangladesh' due to the smart move of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, today India would have been facing three front threat considering the Chineses domination of Bay of Bengal.
The bold move of Indira Gandhi has reshaped India demography and influence which neither RSS nor BJP can't ignore.
It is true that Congress has never sought any votes in the name of 'nationalism'. But stooped so low that they did 'Coffin Scam' importing them from the United States thrice the price for Kargil martyr who fought to liberate the high plains in difficult terrain.
Though late PM Vajpayee expected the advantage from the Kargil crisis but didn't go in his favor. But PM Modi has repeated the 'Surgical strike' success of winning Uttar Pradesh assembly election for 2019 Lok Sabha using the sacrifice of soldiers in Pulwama attack.
BJP has lower the prestige of our forces using them for vote bank.

The nation's success in 1971 war was one of the main issues propagated by the Congress in 1972 elections. Winning elections within 6 months of this war led Indira Gandhi to be more aggressive and oppressive towards her opponents, leading to the proclamation of MISA in 1974 and Emergency in 1975. Even during the 1965 war against Pakistan, her over ambitious nature could not tolerate the growing popularity of the then PM L.B. Shashtri, whose death still remains a mystery.

@ Mr. Joy Castelino, After the death of LB Shashtri in early 1966, Indira Gandhi elected PM by the Parliament, but she got people's mandate in the 1967 elections. She was re-elected in 1972 after completing her 5 year term.

The reason for 1971 war not politicised is because of RSS background AB Vajpayee, who praised Indira Gandhi as Maa Durga......

can any congressman do the same for Modi?

Politising the Armed Forces for political gain by the BJP and especially Modi is indeed Worrisome and Alarming. Suppose they have nothing else to show case as their achievements for the last five years except diving society and polarising people to garner votes.

Modi Sarkar Ko Hatao. Desh Ko Bachao.

Here it is not only opposition, even the martyred soldiers family are asking for proof. Pulwara attack has raised many questions. If one analyse the Pulwara attack and subsequent Indian attack on Pakistani soil all raise big question mark.
I had my doubt because same day on 14th Feb, when Pulwara terrorist attack took place, and 40 plus our soldiers died, Modiji is busy doing photoshot for his election rally on the same day and main opposition party Congress had cancelled all its program. This is called feku nationalism.

j.anata, Mangaluru / Bengaluru — please don't talk through your hat! Siddu may have been in any party, but fact remains that the Congress never have politicised the two wars the nation fought and won or even the surgical strikes! It's only a low-life like Modi and Shah and their blind bhakt brainwashed chaddi followers who politicise what the Indian Armed Forces have done for the country.
