Udupi, Mar 10: Hours after the Election Commission announced schedule for the high-voltage Lok Sabha elections on Sunday, March 10 and code of conduct kicked in, several Congress leaders who participated in party rally deserted their government vehicle and travelled in private cars.

Congress minister U T Khader, former chief minister Siddaramaiah, former minister Pramod Madhwaraj and Udupi district in-charge minister Dr Jayamala were seen returning in a private vehicle from the Parivarthan Yatra organised by Udupi district Congress committee, at Royal Garden Kalsanka here on Sunday. Khader was seen driving the car.

As elections, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make his bid to return to power amid hectic parleys by several political parties to put a united fight against the ruling BJP, are announced, the model code of conduct has come into force.

Amongst other things, the code bars the government from announcing policy decisions.

    It is Congress culture...lot of drivers become MLA's ,MP 's ,cabinet ministers and finally CM of state too...only bootlicking qualification is enough...no other degrees needed.. in jharkhand one Congress leader made his son IAS officer too, without entrance exam....

    In BJP shakha education , lynching skills, hitting skills like Ananth Kumar Hegde, Lies, MA in Fekuism, is enough to rule the country, Historian can become Reserve Bank Governor, Lawyer can become FM, Criminal can become CM ,Party president or HM. 10th Fail can become education minister, Tulu medium SSLC fail can become Flyover Minister, Temple poojary can become CM(Yogi can become bhogi). Show me an educated or cultured people in BJP.....

    Best Example our Ruling MP of Mangalore,
    Union home ministry appointed (only capable MP from South) him to report (re-post)on Sabarimala riots & issues.
    We went there and spoke in Tamil * sorry Malayalam!
    Wrote report in kannada/Tulu,konkani and Beary language!
    Submitted in Hindi (Devanagari script)
    Finally he red in parliament in English!
