Mangaluru, Mar 11: Anti rowdy squad police, on Sunday, March 10, arrested a person who had stolen a cow from a goshala near here.
Abdul Salam alias Tudva Salam, from Manjeshwar, Paivalike is the arrested person.
Abdul Salam was absconding after stealing a cow from Punyakoti goshala after threatening the inmates with a sword.
The cow was stolen from Punyakoti goshala belonging to Rajaram Bhat in Konaje police station limits in March, 2018. Fast until death was held in the ashram urging for arrest of the suspect. Several organizations in the district had taken part in the protests.
Rajaram Bhat had given up protests after police arrested a suspect.
Three cases are pending against Salam in Ullal police station, two cases in Konaje and one case in Vittal. He was arrested from Chavadi within Konaje police station limits on orders from assistant police commissioner, Mangaluru south division.
