Daiji Dubai Drama Contest - Official Radio...

Mangalore, Feb 16: ‘Angelorche Kalaakar’ staged ‘Sanjecho Kollo’ as part of the Daiji Dubai All India Drama Competition being held at Don Bosco Hall on Monday February 16, before a packed audience.

The script was translated into Konkani by Leslie Mogarnad from the Tulu original ‘Bayya Mallige’ by Dr Sanjeeva Dandekeri. The direction was by Maxim D’Souza, Angelore.

Albert Lasrado enacted the role of Antonam and Maizee Nazareth was his second wife Lynette.  Maxim D’Souza was Kiran, Antony’s son and Jasmine Vas was Shali, his daughter.  Praveen Neri D’Souza was in the role of Elias, Lynette’s brother.

The rest of the cast consisted of Naveen James D’Souza (Dr Praveen), Louis D’Souza (Marku), Gerald Pinto (Gabru), Victor Rasquinha (Pasku), Anil Veigas (Abdulla), Sonia Crasta (Nita), and Jackson D’Souza (Vincy), besides featuring Rocky D’Souza, Mary Patrao, Lancy Monteiro, Renita Lobo, Sunita D’Souza, Philomena D’Souza, Daina Monteiro, Preetam, Joyce D’Souza, and Rajani Pais, in minor roles.



















































Alwyn Bajal did the stage setting while Muralidhar Kamath was responsible for the background score. Sheryn Valder, Diona Pais, and Mable Pinto, sang songs written and tuned by Clarence Pinto Padil.

Giriappa Master Idya was the make-up man and Kingsley Nazareth was in charge of lighting effects. Stany Lobo, Vivian Cardoza, and Rajesh D’Souza were the stage assistants.

Titus Noronha, convener of the competition, welcomed the gathering while Fr Maxim D’Souza, assistant parish priest, Angelore church, lit the lamp and inaugurated the show.  Leslie Mogarnad, playwright, and Melvyn Rodrigues, founder member, Daiji Dubai, were present on the dais.

The fourth drama of the competition will be staged on Tuesday February 17 by Konkani Kutam Weekly.  They will perform the 'Pulak Soirik Zalea' by Joker Cascia.
