Bantwal, Feb 18:
Polali, the abode of Goddess Rajarajeshwari is again in news for all wrong reasons. Over the years enough blood has been shed in and around Polali.  The streak of crime that started with the killing of Kamalaksha, continued with the murders of rickshaw driver Rafique, Gujari Hameed and Polali Ananthu in the following years. Two more persons were killed in the same area in the violence that took place at the funeral procession of Ananthu. One Ibrahim was killed as miscreants set an ambulance carrying passengers to Bajpe airport on fire during in the infamous Mangalore curfew in 2006.

If anyone had the impression that this notorious crime link of Polali might have ended, they were certainly wrong. Notorious rowdy-sheeter Santhosh alias ‘Candle Santhu’s murder on Wednesday February 18 morning, has added one more victim to the already bulging streak of crimes.

‘Candle Santhu’ a notorious rowdy who was once one of the most dreaded criminal of the district was hacked to death of unidentified gang of miscreants in the broad daylight on Wednesday in his house near Polali here. Some old enmity is said to be the motive for the murder.

Santhosh alias ‘Candle Santhu’ was involved in several murder cases in the district and was facing many criminal cases police station across the district. He is said to have been attacked with lethal weapons by a group of seven miscreants who arrived in a vehicle on Wednesday morning. Though Santhu was immediately rushed to the hospital, he breathed his last on the way to the hospital.

As a neighbour i would like to say that he was a reckless person for family. In no way he keeps them happy even for one day. Mutually to the public as well as in his home were uniformly fed up by his offensive. So I feel no one will be sad because of his ruthless death. Anyways, I feel very shame to the people who verbalize him as a leader.

There are many uneducated and unemployed youths are blessed by the political leaders. These politicians call these goondas 'Heroes of the community' when they die nobody looks at their family, we have seen the same fate to earlier Polali Ananhu. When he was murdered he had only 20 rupees in his pocket. Now nobody theire to see his wife and children. Our Youngsters should learn from these examples and to stop listening to their political leaders.

The killings and murders point to the fact that the Judicial System in our country lacks speedy trials. The politicians/ Juriors should think why people resort to murders without adequate Judicial trials and punishments. The laws should be changed and trials should include without witnesses the circumstantial evidences as well as speedy trials of the guilty, then society need not watch these day time murders.

Neither any government nor human can give justice in this world. If we give death sentence to a person who killed a person then what will be the punishment for the person who killed 10 people?? Further more, a person killed by a criminal may be has another 10 people depending on him whereas the killer a burden to society. How the death of this killer justifies the death of a good responsible person? so, its not the end. For sure the true justice will be hereafter………………….
