Mangalore, Feb 19: The Superintendent of Police Squad led by inspector Jayanth Shetty on Thursday February 19 seized a black Tavera car bearing fake registration, which was allegedly used by a seven-member gang for murdering notorious rowdy Santhosh Poojary alias Candle Santhu in Polali near Bantwal.

Police said that the gang abandoned the vehicle near Nethravathi River in Adyar Katte in the outskirts of the city after brutally killing Santhosh Poojary. Though the number plate suggested that the vehicle was registered in Udupi, police sources said that it was actually registered in Puttur RTO.
 
According to police the gang abandoned the vehicle at about 10 am on Wednesday February 18. They said to have left the vehicle near a shop and then crossed the river on a ferry. At the time of crossing the river, they had told the shopkeeper that they will come back a bit later. However, they did not return.

    Its good news. The police now have something to keep them busy. I think this is the new trend in the law taking place in Mangalore. Sena`s, groups and now the gangs, taking the place of the police and court of law to pronounce and initiate justice their way.
