Bengaluru, Mar 20: The government, which bent to the pressure of Government Pre-university Lecturers' Association, has sent an order extending the duration of summer holidays.

According to the new order the duration of leave will be from March 20 till May 19. The classes for second PU will commence from May 20. Earlier, the government had intended to start the second PU classes either on May 2 or 6.

The association of PU lecturers resorted to protest saying that they boycott the evaluation of the second PU answer papers. There is a possibility that the association may temporarily take back their decision. The association said that final decision regarding the evaluation work will be taken on March 20 in the meeting of the association.

The office bearers of the association of lecturers say, "The government has so far met only one out of the 20 demands that we had put across. They have not given any reaction to the other 19 demands. The fight will continue till the other demands are also met."

How many of the protesting lecturers demand that coaching classes during holidays should be closed too ? They won't because all of them do part-time coaching in private institutions.

Holidays for namesake, actually they want to earn some quick bucks. That's why, they want the vacaction extended from their own colleges.
