People in Kerala most satisfied with local MLAs: IANS-CVOTER Tracker poll


New Delhi, Mar 23 (IANS): People in Kerala are most satisfied with their Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) followed by Goa and Telangana, according to the CVOTER-IANS 2019 poll tracker.

In the opinion poll conducted between January 1 and March 18 with a sample size of more than 60,000 spread across all 543 Lok Sabha seats, voters in Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh were least satisfied with the performance of their MLAs.

In fact, Jammu and Kashmir saw negative approval of -8.3 per cent on the satisfaction with the MLA. The Left-ruled southern state of Kerala saw 58.1 per cent of respondents saying they were happy with the area MLA. In Goa, 54.5 per cent of respondents were happy with the MLA.

Telangana, which gave the maximum approval rating for the Chief Minister, is among the top three in the satisfaction level with the MLA followed by Gujarat where 42.5 per cent of the respondents said they were satisfied with the performance of their elected representative in the state Assembly.

Bihar is ranked at the bottom of the chart along with Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Jammu and Kashmir. Only 15.4 per cent of the respondents said they were satisfied with the performance of the MLAs.

Punjab is placed just above Bihar with MLA approval rating of only 19.3 per cent.
