Mangalore, Mar 3: Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao took charge as the superintendent of police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday, March 3.
He has been posted to the district in place of N Sateesh Kumar, who has been transferred to Bidar.
Speaking to the media after assuming charge, Dr A S Rao said that he would give priority to maintaining law and order in the district and is committed to making use of scientific and advanced technology in the department to improve its functioning. “Being accessible and maintaining transparency will be the other two issues that are on top of my agenda. They should be able to get information that they might be in need of from the department as and when required," he explained.
“As at present, we are focused at ensuring a peaceful election besides putting tabs on the activities of criminals, miscreants and anti- social elements etc., who take part in criminal and illegal activities,” he said.
