Udupi: Devotees Enlightened through 'Bhakta Sampada' at Yellur Temple

Udupi, Mar 6: The increased activity of reconstruction and renovation of temples and centres of worship all over Tulunadu and fast developing of education sector in the region are quite appropriate, since both of them are essential for the changed socio-economic status of the region, said Dubai-based NRI Padmashree Dr B R Shetty.
Dr Shetty was speaking at 'Bhakta Sampada', religious meet held at Sri Mahatobhara Vishwanath Temple, Yellur near here on Thursday March 5 evening, convened on the occasion of Brahmakalashotsav of the temple.
"I am grateful to Yellur Lord Vishwanatha for being graceful and enabling me to earn the 'Padmashree' title," said B R Shetty.
The programme was presided over by Karnataka Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor.
Moodbidri MLA K Abhayachandra Jain was the chief guest of the occasion.

Engineer Vishnumurti Bhat couple and Vishwanath Bhat were felicitated for their involvement with the renovation and reconstruction of temple, and serving the Lord since the past two and a half decades.
Vedamurti Bettige Gururaj Tantri, Vedamurti Padmanabha Udupa Kunjoor, R Gopal Bhat, H Krishnamurti Bhat, Vedamurti Subraya Bhat, Vishnukripa and Sripati Bhat Heddary were also honoured on the occasion.
Ravish Tantri Kuntar of Kasargod Action Committee delivered a special lecture.
Kunda Heggade royal family representative Jinesh Ballal, Kalattoor Sri Mahalingeshwar temple managing trustee Ranganat Bhat, Yellur temple managing trustee Y Prafulla Bhat, reconstruction committee president Nadimane Mohan Rao, Mumbai committee president Chandrashekar Shetty and Shekar D Shetty were present on the occasion.
Mumbai committee secretary Praveen B Shetty welcomed the gathering. Prakash Shenoy compered the programme. Ranjan Shetty Mallabettu proposed vote of thanks.
Vidyabhushan from Bangalore presented a programme of devotional songs. Disciples of Kadri Natyalaya staged a dance show. ‘Bhasmasura Mohini', Yakshagana play and 'Rasa Leela' cultural programmes were also held at the occasion.
