Mangalore: DCIB Team will be Reconstituted - Dr Subrahmanyeshwara Rao

Mangalore, Mar 6: The present team of the District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) will be dissolved and replaced by a set of new people, said Dr Subrahmanyeshwara Rao, superintendent of police.

The new rules and regulations for the young and sincere police officers have been formulated and the present officials will be posted outside the DCIB. A strong DCIB team will be formed with a fresh look, he said.

The new team of officials will be put together shortly and Venkatesh Prasanna, inspector will continue to work in his capacity to the best of his ability, said Rao.

The DCIB team under the guidance of H N Venkatesh Prasanna, inspector, has played a lead role in successfully nabbing suspected terrorists. Apart from it, they succeeded in arresting the culprits involved with the church attacks, pub attacks and MLA daughter's abduction case, he explained.

Orders transferring 20 police officials were passed when Sateesh Kumar was the SP here. Specifically, three DCIB officials were relocated during his term, Rao clarified,

These orders had been put on hold by the deputy inspector general of police Gopal Hosur, for being reviewed by the incoming superintendent of police.
