Mangalore: Candle Santhu Murder Case - Police Arrest Two, Take One to Custody

Mangalore, Mar 7: The police team constituted to investigate the murder case of notorious rowdy-sheeter Santosh alias Candle Santhu, has arrested two suspects on Friday March 6.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Ismail, a resident of Madoor in Ullal and Mahammed Iqbal, resident of Kavoor Shanthinagar in the city.
Candle Santhu alias Santhosh was found murdered at Badakabail near Polali, very near to his residence, on Wednesday, February 18.
Slain Santhu was involved with criminal activities for over a decade, but had in the recent years, maintained a low profile. The police however, are yet to find out the reasons for his murder, even though some sources attribute the murder to a pre-existing enmity.
A team led by deputy superintendent of police Jayant Shetty and Bantwal circle inspector Nanjunde Gowda told the media persons, that investigations are going on and six more people, whose involvement in the murder is suspected, are yet to be arrested in connection with the case, as they have been absconding.
Meanwhile one of the accused in the murder of Santhosh alias Candle Santhu was produced in court on Friday March 6.
Mohammed Iqbal, a resident of Shantinagar, near Kavoor in Mangalore, was the accused who was produced in court on Friday.
Sources said that notorious criminal Madoor Isubu who is residing in an undiclsoed location in the Middle East is said to have financed the murder through his elder brother Madoor Ismail who has been arrested now. The police have also taken one Sijaj also into their custody.
Panambur deputy superintendent of police (DySP) Jayant V Shetty and circle inspector Nanjunde Gowda led the team which arrested Mohammed Iqbal. The police are likely to produce the rest of the accused in court on Saturday March 7.
